Five ways your support reaches the people who need it
Ar-Rahmaniyah Foundation runs five ongoing programmes, delivered on the ground in Bangladesh and funded entirely by donations from our supporters in the UK.
Each programme below addresses a specific, practical need — a child out of school, a family without food, a village without clean water. We operate a 100% donation policy, so a gift given to a named appeal goes to that appeal.
We believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our madrasahs give children a full school day: Qur'anic and Islamic studies alongside Bengali, English and arithmetic, taught in a safe and settled environment.
Pupils receive their books, stationery and slates free of charge, and the madrasah runs its own library of Islamic texts and school books open to every student. Older pupils sit formal written examinations each term.
About the Madrasah
Hunger is a daily reality for many of the families we serve. We run regular food drives, packing and distributing parcels of rice, oil, lentils and fresh produce to households that would otherwise go without.
Parcels are packed by volunteers and handed out directly at village collection points, with priority given to widow-headed households, families with young children, and the elderly. Distribution increases sharply during Ramadan.
Iftar & Suhoor Appeal
When flooding hits, families lose their homes, their stores of food and their access to clean water within hours. Our emergency relief programme moves quickly to get essentials to the worst-affected villages.
Working with our partners on the ground, we load and dispatch vehicles of food, clean water and household essentials directly to flood-hit communities, and follow up with longer-term support once the water recedes.
Give to the Emergency Fund
Access to clean water is a basic human right. We build deep tube wells in remote villages, giving whole communities a reliable source of safe water for drinking, cooking and washing.
A well removes the daily journey to collect water — a task that usually falls to women and children — and cuts the waterborne illness that comes from drinking from open sources. Each well serves its village for years.

We provide a safe and stable home for orphaned children, covering the things a parent would otherwise provide: food, clothing, healthcare, schooling and someone to turn to.
Children in our care attend the madrasah alongside their peers, so they grow up inside a community rather than apart from it. Sponsorship covers a child's living costs and education for the year.
